What is the difference between a "Data Collection" and a "Data Review"?
A Data Collection consists of
a) an original set of research data archived on Discuss Data,
b) the relevant metadata information, and
c) the accompanying "Documentation of Data Collection",
which describes the Data Collection in more detail. Learn more about the Documentation of Data Collection.
A Data Review, on the other hand, critically discusses a Data Collection that is not available on Discuss Data, but accessible via third-party websites, such as personal blogs, institutional websites or other research data repositories.
Thus, a data review consists only of
a) the Data Review and
b) a link to the original source of the dataset
– but not the data itself.
