Description

The published dataset originates from a non-representative online survey (N=617) on trust in oppositional media (OM) in Russia after 2022. The survey was conducted in October and November 2024 via the socsci.de platform and included both open-ended and closed-ended questions. The invitation to the survey was distributed via various Telegram channels. The survey contains questions about the media repertoire in 2021 and 2024, regarding changes in media habits after 2022, Rappoport's question, and the socio-demographic profile. Participants were also asked whether they reside in Russia or abroad. Several specific questions were asked regarding trust in OM: whether attitude to oppositional media had changed after 2022 (closed-ended question), why they trust/distrust them (open-ended question), how often they used OM before and after 2022, and whether internet restrictions affected their media consumption. No specific funding was received to conduct the survey.
