Description
This data collection offers a large-scale survey of internally displaced persons in three major Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Lviv and Dnipro) in December 2022. The survey was conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation in cooperation with the Center for Political Sociology.
In total, 600 internally displaced persons (IDPs) were interviewed (200 in each city). In addition, 100 local residents were interviewed in each of these cities to compare the responses. The sample of the local population of each city is representative in terms of gender, age and area of residence.
The survey questions for IDPs cover the experience of moving and contacts with relatives and friends, life in the new place, and emotional state. The survey questions for local residents also cover contacts with relatives and friends, living conditions in the local environment, and emotional state. Additionally, local residents are asked about contacts with and support for internally displaced persons.
This data collection contains the original survey data. The SPSS files (.sav - one for IDPs and one for the local population) are the original files provided by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation. They have been exported into Excel files. The content of the respective xlsx-files should be identical with the original sav-files. The sav-files contain the questions and answer options of the original questionnaires in Ukrainian. The original questionnaires are also included in the Documentation of Data Collection. Additionally, an overview of the answers to all questions is provided in table form in the file "results.pdf". An English translation of both questionnaires is available in the file “results.pdf”. Each file has a size of no more than 1 MB.
New in this version: An English translation of all questions and answer options has been included in the file “results.pdf”. This translation can be used to work with the actual data files in sav and xlsx-formats.
