Description
The fourth wave of the Panel Study of Russian Public Opinion and Attitudes (PROPA) was conducted online (June 9 – June 28, 2025; N=3,666). The respondents were recruited through the online marketplace panels. The survey gathers insights from a wide demographic cross-section of the Russian society, providing a snapshot of the attitudes, economic perceptions, and political allegiances of Russian citizens. The panel component includes 1621 respondents.
Participants are Russian citizens aged 18 and over residing in Russia at the time of collection. On average, participants completed the survey in 14 minutes.
The dataset includes detailed measures of respondents’ socio-demographic characteristics (gender, age, region of residence, settlement type, city name, education, occupation, and household material situation), economic evaluations (satisfaction with personal and national economic conditions), political engagement (interest in politics, frequency of discussion, and perceived support for Vladimir Putin in respondents’ social circles and in Russia overall), and institutional trust (approval of the President, Government, and State Duma, as well as trust in Russians who left after 24 February 2022). It also contains war-related items capturing personal or family participation, support for the war in Ukraine, expectations about the likelihood of selected developments in the near future, including new wave of mobilization, economic growth in Russia, nuclear war, completion of the special operation, rise in crime in Russia, and perceived safety of participating in war-related surveys. Finally, the dataset provides a battery on media consumption, including multiple sources of political information, and trust in major information channels (online news and federal television).
