Description

This dataset helps you connect official data on Moldovan localities (cities, towns, villages) with the distances between them. The two main data sources are OSM (OpenStreetMap) and CUATM (Classification of Moldovan Administrative-Territorial Units). Additional sources were also used. The administrative and OSM data are generally used as provided, with little criticism or interpretation.
The data consist of six files, including
1. one file that connects CUATM data and OSM data,
2. four .csv files that refer to two alternative calculations of time and distances between every locality, and
3. one description file written according to the discuss-data best practices checklist.
The data were collected for a quantitative study of emergency-related causes of death in Moldovan villages. However, the dataset can also be used in many other ways, including logistics cost calculation, economic activity measurement, or public transport distances.
